Process

Scartworks processScartworks work on large scale public art projects including sculptures, street furniture & floorscapes.

Our approach is site specific, responding to the environment, architecture and available space.

Ideas are frequently developed from local sources in order to give the work a sense of place.

Concepts are derived from a proposed theme or from consultation with the clients.

Scartworks utilise a process of sketch development and research to initiate ideas.

Drawings and scale models are produced to develop ideas from which an appropriate form can be assessed for viability, structural suitability and cost.

The commission process follows the following steps:

  • Client consultation
  • Development of proposals and scheme frameworks
  • Concept Visualisation & Prototype Modelling
  • Detailed production design work
  • Fabrication
  • Installation

Scartworks provides a fabrication service for other artists & designers.
